Help Recovering Old Bitcoin from 2010 – Lost Email, No Wallet Access, Need Guidance
Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone here might be able to help or give me advice on how to potentially recover some Bitcoin from around 2009–2010. Here's my full situation: Back in 2009 or 2010, while I was a college student in Indonesia, I joined a website that paid users in Bitcoin for clicking on ads. It was not a video-watching site, just regular ad-clicking (bumper ads), and each click required a 15–25 second wait before the next one was available. I could only do around 4 or 5 ad clicks per hour, and each click paid around 0.1 BTC, if I remember correctly. Bitcoin was around Rp. 1,500 at the time (about $0.1). I used an online Bitcoin wallet, but I was accessing everything from internet cafés (warnet) and never saved my wallet backup. I also never withdrew any of the BTC because it required a Mastercard for withdrawal, which I didn’t have. So everything stayed in the wallet tied to the email I registered. Here's the main issue: - I still remember 2 from 1 account I used to register through the web click to pay - I haven’t logged into those 2 Yahoo account in over a decade. - When I tried to log in recently, Yahoo showed a message saying the account was deactivated due to inactivity. - All old data and email history are completely gone. I tried Yahoo recovery options, but no success so far. - I believe on that email I still have wallet address hopefully phrase also but not sure for phrase At this point I don’t know: - The name of the website I used to click ads. - The wallet provider I used. - Whether any BTC still exists associated with my old activity. What I do know: - The approximate period I was active. - My Yahoo email. - I never withdrew the funds. - I had no 2FA or other recovery options back then. Questions: 1. Is there any way to search for Bitcoin addresses that received deposits around that time linked to my email (if ever used publicly)? 2. Are there any known ad-clicking websites from that era (2009–2010) that paid in Bitcoin? 3. Is there a way to restore my old Yahoo email or recover deleted email history through Yahoo support? 4. Would services like WalletRecoveryServices or KeychainX be able to help in cases like mine, even without a wallet file? 5. Are there any strategies to trace my old activity based on the limited info I remember? Thanks so much in advance for any help, even just ideas or directions I could try. submitted by /u/Apart-Ticket-5854 [link] [comments]
