Occasion and ethnic wear brand KALKI Fashion has raised Rs 225 crore from Lighthouse Funds to fuel its retail expansion.

"This partnership will enable us to scale our retail presence in domestic and international markets, enhance supply chain efficiency, and continue to invest in new product development and customer experience to serve our customers," Saurabh Gupta, Founder and CEO of KALKI Fashion, said in a statement.

The premium apparel brand is actively expanding its retail footprint in India and internationally, and claims strong unit economics along with consistent profit growth.

It has a host of large-format flagship stores in major Indian cities and also offers a customisable experience through its D2C platform.

“KALKI has built a strong brand in the premium occasion wear segment, focusing on quality and craftsmanship. As India continues celebrating weddings, festivals, and special occasions, KALKI is poised to become the brand of choice for consumers who seek elegance and exclusivity," Anshul Jain, Managing Director at Lighthouse Funds, explained the rationale behind the investment.

Founded in 2007 by Saurabh, Shishir and Nishit Gupta, KALKI offers premium bridal, festive, and occasion wear for both men and women. It has a strong customer base in the US, the UK, Canada, and Australia.

Lighthouse Funds has also backed brands like Fabindia in the apparel space and Kushal's in the occasional accessories space. Its other investments include Wow! Momo, Kama Ayurveda, Duroflex, and Nykaa.
