Thoughts on using IBIT vs a wallet for investment?
I'm thinking of putting roughly $30k-40k into BTC, then adding about $1000/mo. Curious what everyone thinks about using IBIT vs a wallet. I currently have IBIT in my IRA (maxed out though), and I would like a long term safety net if something catastrophic happens. In other words, if there's another bank failure within my lifetime, I'd like to know I have another currency in my possession. However, the convenience of IBIT within my brokerage account is hard to beat, and it's easier to list my family as beneficiaries. I have made it very clear to them that if something happens, and I decide on a wallet, they are not to enlist the help of "the kid who knows computers next door" for help accessing it. I have one specific friend I trust to help them. It's also worth consider that I could mess up with the wallet too, especially if I'm DCA'ing weekly. Not that I think I would, but it's pretty hard to mess up buying shares. What are your thoughts? submitted by /u/AssistancePretend668 [link] [comments]
