River won't let me withdraw

Hi everyone, I’m on a student visa in the US and decided to open a River account after seeing good reviews. When I signed up, it didn’t ask if I was a US person or citizen, only for my SSN. I deposited about $1,000, but when I tried to withdraw due to an emergency, it asked me to confirm I’m a US person for tax purposes under penalty of perjury. I reached out to customer service, but they seemed unsure about the situation, even after I explained that visa holders can have SSNs. I’m just hoping to get my money back without the interest at this point—does anyone know if they can reverse the transactions or know anything I can do? Thanks so much submitted by /u/Better-Transition-54 [link] [comments]
