My Cousin Doesn’t Know Anything About Bitcoin—Yet He’s a Maximalist

Yesterday, I was chatting with my cousin. He's 40 years old. He asked me if I trade or not, and I told him I'm just hodling. He said, "Yes, that's very clever. When the price was about 20K, I wanted to go all in, but your dad (as my adviser) didn’t let me." I thought, cool — but he's probably treating it like a betting strategy, just like with other shitcoins. Then he added, "And it’s true only and only about Bitcoin, if you want to hold for at least 4 years." I'm pretty sure if you asked him how Bitcoin works or what exactly it is, he couldn't explain it — even as a newbie. But the trust he has in it, probably gained the hard way by losing money on shitcoins, is awesome. I think even in the best-case scenario for Bitcoin, a huge percentage of people won't really understand it but will still use it — just because it feels right. Even today, how many people really care about how finance, banking, or money works? It'll stay the same, with the difference being that Bitcoin becomes the natural choice for money. submitted by /u/bulgakovnothimself [link] [comments]
