Italian EdTech startup Tutornow raises €1 million to scale their accessible and personalised lessons

Lomazzo-based Tutornow, an EdTech startup specialising in digital solutions for education and training, announced the closing of their €1 million funding round in order to develop an AI-based algorithm to optimise the matching between tutor and student and expand their team.

The round was led by entrepreneur Mario Peveraro, co-founder of ONE4, a company that provides services in cybersecurity, AI, business intelligence, and data analysis, also for Tutornow. This investment is supported by Techstars, where Tutornow completed its acceleration programme in 2023; Invitalia, through the Smart&Start programme aimed at supporting the growth of innovative startups in Italy; and Kf-invest.

This funding round marks a key moment for Tutornow: it will allow us to accelerate our growth, further invest in technology and AI, and expand our impact in the education and digital training sector. We strongly believe that personalised learning, supported by innovative tools, can make a real difference for students, families, and businesses, making education more accessible, effective, and tailored to individual needs. We are thrilled to have the support of high-level investors who share our vision and commitment,” comments Riccardo Sciortino, Co-founder and CEO, and Nicola De Carlo, Co-founder and CFO.

Founded in 2021 by Riccardo Sciortino, Nicola De Carlo, Andrei Braila, and Luca Dei Rossi, Tutornow has developed a digital platform that makes learning more accessible and effective through personalised lessons and interactive tools.

De Carlo and Dei Rossi had previously founded Educo, a non-profit organisation aimed at supporting students with learning disabilities (DSA) and special educational needs (BES).  Tutornow’s approach is centred on personalised lessons and interactive tools.

The goal is to support students and families in improving academic performances through targeted tutoring, language certifications, academic recovery programmes, and skills development. The company also offers B2B training solutions for businesses, including corporate welfare programmes.

In recent years, Tutornow has experienced a +100% YoY revenue increase, and has scaled its team. Starting with the four founding partners, the company has now grown into a team of 30 people, with expansion plans that include strategic hires in the coming months to strengthen their commercial, operational, technological, and financial areas.

Tutornow also claims to be a key reference point for students with learning disabilities (DSA) and special educational needs (BES), offering a personalised educational approach enhanced by the platform’s simple and intuitive experience, as well as the expertise of its academic coordination team.

Since its launch, Tutornow has reportedly delivered over 150,000 hours of lessons, involving a network of more than 15,000 qualified tutors. These numbers reflect not only the platform’s success but also the growing demand for flexible, digital learning solutions.

Looking ahead, Tutornow is preparing to scale its business with the goal of consolidating its leadership in the Italian digital education market and expanding its reach with new technological solutions and services.

On the technology side, the startup is developing an AI-based algorithm to optimise the matching between tutor and student, ensuring a highly personalised experience and further enhancing the quality of the service offered.

At the same time, Tutornow is strengthening its B2B offering through employee family support services and dedicated corporate training programmes, providing customised learning solutions. Tutornow is currently featured on notable corporate welfare platforms, including Edenred and Double You, part of the Zucchetti Group, and has already implemented corporate welfare programmes directly with several prominent Italian companies.

Thanks to new investments and to the enhancement of its technological infrastructure, Tutornow aims to become a leading player in the field of digital learning, expanding its presence not only in the Italian market but also internationally in the near future.

Legal advisory for the deal was provided by Francesco Pezcoller, a lawyer specializing in M&A and Venture Capital, and financial advisory was handled by Exit.ai.
