How I got banned from Buttcoin by being calm, factual, and slightly annoying
Hope that this is fine with the moderators. If not, let me know and I will remove it. :) I recently posted on Buttcoin with a simple, unpopular opinion: "At what point do you admit you were wrong about Bitcoin as an investment? Over 90% of people who bought and held are currently in profit." Cue the rage. What followed was a wave of sarcasm, insults, conspiracy theories, and one user sincerely trying to compare Bitcoin to Madoff. I replied calmly - with facts, on-chain data, and real-world use cases. No hype, no memes, just straight forward arguments. Eventually, I got banned. And here's the best part: one of the mods kept replying to my comments after banning me, asking me to respond. Apparently, being civil and persistent is too much for a subreddit that calls itself a satire community but can't tolerate someone pointing out Bitcoin hasn't collapsed for 15 years. I even got a DM from a lurker who read the whole thread and thanked me for laying out a rational case. That’s why I posted - not to convert the loudest voices, but to reach the quiet ones reading along. So yeah, I got banned. Worth it. submitted by /u/Weary_Strawberry2679 [link] [comments]
