Am I actually increasing security by using an encrypted digital backup (Cryptomator vault on Proton Drive, protected by Yubikey 2FA2)?
Perplexity advises me that to increase the security of my Trezor Safe 5 I should implement an Encrypted Digital Backup. It tells me to store the full seed phrase in a Cryptomator vault on a Proton Drive, protected by Yubikey 2FA. I had understood that backups should never be stored online. I am not sure if the advice Perplexity is offering here is sound or not. I do not understand the merits of the technologies it is recommending relative to the potential risks. Can someone qualified please advise? submitted by /u/Dee_Doo_Dow [link] [comments]
