€115 million for EarthAI: Madrid-based Xoople emerges from stealth as Europe’s next DeepTech breakout

Spanish startup Xoople, a purpose-built Earth Intelligence company, today announced that it has emerged from stealth and successfully closed its latest equity round, bringing the total raised to €115 million – marking one of the largest investments through Spain’s Innvierte programme.

Xoople shareholders are a mix of Spanish and international investors, including CDTI, a public entity under the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and AXIS, a VC manager wholly owned by Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO). This also includes support from the Spanish Space Agency. Xoople is also one of the companies classified as a Strategic Enterprise by CDTI, and one of the largest investments in its Innvierte programme.

Fabrizio Pirondini, Xoople CEO, said: “We are humbled and grateful that our investors and partners share our vision to develop and fuel the new era of EarthAI. In our volatile world, the ability to quickly detect and precisely understand changes on the Earth’s surface is more crucial than ever. As the world’s first purpose-built Earth Intelligence service, Xoople will open endless possibilities, delivering a trusted, global source of data that helps make sense of the world we live in. We are excited to be at the forefront of the transformational possibilities of EarthAI.

Founded in 2019, Xoople claims to be the world’s first Earth Intelligence company, developing the next generation of AI-ready Earth Data to allow a systematic understanding of the physical changes on the Earth’s surface. Using Xoople data, businesses and communities can recognise patterns, detect change and harness predictive insights.

Xoople’s end-to-end system has been developed together with customers in multiple industries and geographies. Its goal is to produce a stream of Earth Data designed to be processed by powerful AI at scale, integrating with Geospatial Reasoning and Enterprise Intelligence to recognise patterns, detect change and provide predictive insights about our world.

Richard Cooke, Esri Corporate Director and Global Head of Sales and Marketing, said: “We have been so impressed by the vision, talent and momentum of Xoople. Their team has unmatched industry expertise, and their purpose-built Earth Intelligence service is solving unmet business needs, delivering AI-ready data and authoritative insights rooted in scientific rigor. This is a combination that simply does not exist today. It takes us beyond a world of images and into a world of insights, providing a dependable ground truth that drives better decisions — from conservation and climate resilience to agriculture and sustainable development. We are excited about Xoople’s potential and proud to support Fabrizio and the team.”

With its upcoming satellite constellation, Xoople will further improve its Earth Data offering, unlocking the potential of EarthAI by delivering AI-ready global datasets that facilitate solving real-world problems at scale. The company aims to put critical data about changes on the Earth’s surface in the hands of those who need it most.

According to the company, the applications are vast, from agriculture and logistics to financial services, Xoople has the potential to facilitate the ability of businesses to drive efficiencies, measure sustainability progress, mitigate risk and innovate for the future.

Teresa Riesgo, CDTI President and Secretary General for Innovation in the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, said: “Our investment in Xoople reflects Spain’s commitment to innovation and technological sovereignty. What sets Xoople apart — even within our strong national portfolio of DeepTech companies — is its potential to power enterprise AI systems in Spain and beyond.

“By helping us better understand and respond to what’s happening on the surface of the Earth, Xoople is strengthening Spain’s digital future, while also contributing to Europe’s broader goals for resilience. The moment is now, and it’s a privilege to support a homegrown company with such far-reaching potential.”

Core to the proposition is a collaboration with Microsoft, which is providing substantial Azure services to meet customer data processing demands. Xoople’s partner ecosystem also includes ESRI, the world’s largest geospatial software company.

Juan Carlos Cortes Pulido, Spanish Space Agency (AEE) Director, said: “Xoople is building a new era of Earth Observation, called EarthAI. Importantly, it’s one that empowers people to make smarter, more informed decisions. The company’s vision aligns with our mission to improve daily life by turning data into something actionable. Their commitment to using AI and Earth data to tackle some of the world’s more pressing challenges speaks volumes. It will help shape a better and more sustainable future for communities worldwide.”
