0.22% Away from 6.7 BTC – The Most Painful Near-Miss of My Life!
Hey, everyone! I’m a developer, Brazilian, 26 years old, and a part-time Bitcoin hunter. I’m participating in the 1000 BTC Bitcoin Challenge, and recently, I went through something that will either make you laugh or cry with me. I was trying to solve Puzzle 67 (6.7 BTC) and noticed on Wednesday that nobody had cracked it yet. So I thought: "This is my chance to escape financial misery!" On Thursday, I fired up my machine, set up KeyHunt, started scanning from 80% of the challenge range, and left my computer running. Yesterday, I found out that SOMEONE FOUND THE PRIVATE KEY! And here’s the part that hurts more than stepping on a LEGO barefoot: it was at 79.78%! I swear to God, just a 0.22% difference! If my computer had sneezed in the right direction, maybe I would have caught it! I barely slept last night, imagining how my life could have changed. I could have helped my family in Brazil, paid off some debts, maybe even funded my dream of doing 1,000 college degrees just because I love studying everything about everything (yes, I’m that kind of person). And now, here I am, a broken man, but still standing, sharing this tragicomedy with you, my fellow Bitcoin soldiers
