How much does social media hinder Bitcoin adoption ?

While endlessly scrolling Reddit recently reading every Bitcoin/crypto article available, and the thousands of comments that people have on the subjects, on both sides: I wondered how much different the progression of Bitcoin would be if there was no internet, no social media for people to even really discuss the technology. For example - when the internet came to be (TCP-IP) Im sure that there were very contradicting views on the tech, but other than in person, or printed media/television/radio there was no real way to argue about it in such a way that people argue over Bitcoin online. I wonder if Bitcoin had been created prior to social media, and Internet forums, if it would have just quietly been adopted as the strongest money available without any of the constraints we have seen over the years. Anyways thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. submitted by /u/Mari0-7 [link] [comments]
