BrowserStackco-founders Ritesh Arora and Nakul Aggarwal have committed Rs 100 crore to their alma mater, IIT Bombay, to support campus infrastructure development, with a focus on upgrading student residential facilities.

“IIT Bombay shaped our vision and gave us the foundation to build BrowserStack into a global tech leader. Quality infrastructure plays a crucial role in nurturing well-rounded engineers who can solve tomorrow's complex challenges,” said Ritesh Arora, CEO & Co-founder of BrowserStack.

The donation, one of the largest received by the institute, forms part of the company’s broader CSR initiative to support education and research in India. The funding will be used to reconstruct Hostel 6—where both Arora and Aggarwal lived during their undergraduate years—and modernise Hostels 7, 8, and 21 under IIT Bombay’s “Project Evergreen” initiative.

The planned reconstruction of Hostel 6 will feature new amenities and updated architecture. The initiative is also aligned with IIT Bombay’s larger vision to upgrade hostel infrastructure to accommodate 14,000 students.

“The engineering talent coming out of IIT Bombay has been transforming the global tech landscape for decades. My journey from Hostel 6 to building a global tech company showed me how powerful the right environment is for nurturing innovation. This contribution is personal for us—we're simply giving back to the institution that showed us what's possible when talent meets opportunity,” said Nakul Aggarwal, CTO & Co-founder of BrowserStack.

IIT Bombay recently climbed to 28th position in the QS World University Rankings 2025 for Engineering & Technology, marking its highest global rank to date.

“This generous gesture by Nakul Aggarwal and Ritesh Arora exemplifies the spirit of giving back that our alumni community upholds. Their significant support will greatly enhance the living and learning environment for our students. We are immensely proud of their achievements and grateful for their unwavering commitment to IIT Bombay,” said Professor Shireesh Kedare, Director, IIT Bombay.

Founded in 2011 by Ritesh Arora and Nakul Aggarwal, BrowserStack provides a cloud-based platform for developers to test websites and mobile apps across devices, operating systems, and browsers on demand.

The firm last year rolled out Low Code Automation, a solution to simplify test automation for quality assurance teams, developers, and non-technical users.

With headquarters in San Francisco and Mumbai, the company has expanded its product line to include over 15 products, of which 10 were launched in the past 18 months.

The Accel-backed firm also acquired Berlin-based Bird Eats Bug, an advanced bug-reporting tool, to address the existing gaps in bug reporting and streamline fragmented testing workflows.
