What happens when 1,000 PhonePe employees brainstorm for 24 hours? At PhonePe Hackathon 2025, the focus was on ideation, collaboration, and the development

PhonePe recently concluded its fifth annual hackathon, a 24-hour innovation challenge that brought together over 1,000 employees to collaborate, ideate, and develop solutions designed to solve real-world challenges. The hacks spanned a wide range of solutions, from debugging tools to new features for the PhonePe platform, all aimed at enhancing user experience and convenience.
Focused on the theme ‘Super’ and held on February 21, 2025, the hackathon saw the submission of more than 110 hacks, showcasing the talent and creativity within the organization. The event fostered a spirit of camaraderie and friendly competition, with superhero-themed photo booths, movie screenings, and a midnight music gig adding to the excitement. Winning teams and finalists received prizes for their innovative contributions.
"Hackathon 2025 was about more than just coding; it was about energy, collaboration, and the absolute joy of building something incredible together," said Tushar Naik, Architect, PhonePe, and Hackathon participant. "Events like these show us that work becomes enjoyable, immersive, and truly rewarding when we collaborate to challenge limits."
Bhavik Kashyap, Head of Events, PhonePe, agreed, stating that the 'Super' theme permeated every aspect of the hackathon, from registration to the finale. “The enthusiastic participation and positive reception across offices were our key measures of success. We extend our gratitude to our team and partners for their invaluable contribution,” he said.
The PhonePe Hackathon continues to play a pivotal role in driving innovation and fostering a culture of collaboration within the company. Some of the exceptional projects from this year's event have the potential to be developed into real-world solutions with meaningful impact.
